Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) - State Agency Leadership Panel

October 2, 9:15 AM-10:30 AM, CARA Part 2: State Agency Leadership Panel: A panel consisting of DOH, CYFD, and HCA leadership will provide CARA program and legislative updates, historical perspectives, program objectives/priorities, and interagency collaboration. The panel will emphasize the important role that hospitals play in supporting CARA program efforts to provide support and services to families affected by substance use, with a particular focus on infants born exposed to substances and their parents or caregivers. A portion of this session will be set aside for Q & A with panelists. Individuals responsible for CARA program compliance, including clinical leadership from birthing hospitals and all hospitals that deliver newborns in emergent circumstances should plan to attend this panel.
